There are reported cases
in our personal knowledge according to which even the passerby
in their vehicles could not stand the nuisance and started
vomiting. Now one can imagine the miserable life of people
of Kasur.
Even worse is the fact that they
could not even enjoy the clean drinking water. The continuously
discharged effluent has seeped down to the 600ft depth of
the land. And furthermore due to unavailability of the proper
pumping facilities, they had to compromise with the polluted
poisonous water. The contaminated water had exposed the people
of Kasur to dangerous and fatal diseases like abdominal diseases,
gastric cancer, tuberculosis, malaria, etc. this has cost
the lives of many innocent publics.
One major loss was the accumulation of discharged effluent
which caused the formation of four stagnant pools covering
over 400 acres of agricultural land. This was not only the
national loss but it also deprived number of people from respectable
employment.
